Thanksgiving 2010

It was a time for Thanksgiving!! And it was a huge blessing that Jade and Saul were here to celebrate the holiday! We had a really good time over the Thanksgiving break, we cooked, we cleaned, we cooked some more, and we ATE! (the best part!) The eating lasted for days, especially the turkey eating because for some reason we thought we needed to make TWO turkeys!! But, it was pure left-over heaven! Here are a few pics of our feast!

Joel's smoked turkey....YUMMO! And how gorgeous is it??? He used cooking the two turkeys as an excuse to purchase a smoker that he's been dreaming of for the last few years!

My first attempt at baking a fresh apple pie....it sure looked beautiful....the crust was a little thick, but I'm sure I'll do better next year!

The table with almost all the fixins!

Joel made the yams and green bean casserole and I made the stuffing and dressing and the cranberry dish. Instead of using the mini marshmallows for the yams, Joel put sugar frosted flakes for the topping and let me tell you, they were delicious!

My cranberry glop, very tasty!

Joel's green bean casserole...a dish I didn't grow up with, but I sure do love it!

Jade, Saul and Saige got up at 6:00 a.m. to run in an annual turkey trot at our church. I thought it was just a ward thing, but it turned out that it was the 7th annual Stake turkey trot and it was legit!! They got bibs and there were prizes! Saul got 2nd in his age group and Jade got first in her age group and 3rd overall. Saige got 4th in her age group! Jade and Saul were very excited to win these turkey mugs! Crazy kids, it is not my idea of a good time to get up at the crack of dawn and run for 3.2 miles!! But, I'm sure glad they do!

The kiddos!

The only some-what decent picture of Joel and I.... ha ha!

They are still in their honeymoon stage!!!

Sitting down to dinner.....apparently the rolls were being dispersed!

Waiting for the eating to begin!

Bodie was a little confused... ha ha! But, he sure did dig on that turkey! That's about all he ate.

After our tummies were full, we sat around the table like slugs and Saul showed us his silverware trick!

We really did have a good holiday. Family, good food and love...that is what it is all about!

Sleepy Head and some Sunday Pics!

It was so nice getting that extra hour of sleep this last Sunday and Bodie was enjoying it a little too much!! We had some friends over Saturday night, so we didn't give Bodie a bath before he went to bed, so we waited and waited for him to wake up so we could give him a quick bath before church, finally I told Joel we would just have to wake him up (which I hate to do) but, it had to be done (I can't risk being late and not getting our pew at church...ha ha). So, Joel went to his room and the next thing I know, he is running downstairs and coming back up with the camera! We find Bodie in some funny positions when he is sleeping, but this was too cute! That stuffed animal makes a good pillow!

Look at those eyelashes will ya???? I swear they are STILL growing!

DON'T WAKE ME UP!

Another angle....he didn't even wake up with the camera clicking away!

Oh my, we love this kid!

When we finally roused him, we even had a little time to get some Sunday pics! He still looks a little sleepy!

Joel hates Bodie's tie!! I super-duper LOVE it! It went missing for a few weeks and I totally accused Joel of hiding it, but alas, it was tucked in a drawer...too bad Joel, Mama always gets her way!

Father and son......

Kyle still likes getting smoochies from his Daddy!

Very sweet!

Mary Poppins, Bert, and the Chimney Sweeps!

Major Halloween Photo Overload coming up...ha ha! There were so many great pictures, I just couldn't stop adding them! I was determined to put together a family theme this year for Halloween and had a blast putting together our "Mary Poppins" costumes! Joel went along with it...just a little moaning and groaning! I even got Kyle to dress up (major coup there)...ha ha!
I think we looked stinking cute, if I do say so myself!

Mary and Bert....we go together like peas and carrots!

Kyle took a bunch of these pictures...on manual mode...he's taking a photography class at school and did such a good job!

And now, for the cutest little bitty chimney sweep EVER!!! He was such a hit at our ward Halloween party!! I could just smooch his little dirty face all day!

LOVE THESE SHOTS!! Didn't Kyle get some great pics? Good job my boy!

Smoochy face....hmmmm!

He loved being on the swing! The rest of the photo shoots were a little less exciting for him!

Joel and I made such a cute kid...ha ha!

Trying to get him to hold his chimney broom...with limited success!

And he's off........I presume to find a dirty fireplace somewhere!

Bodie was getting over it by now...but, we still got some good shots!

Had to put this one in for Joel's face!!

Another chimney sweep...how cute is she? Lovin the brooms...they turned out so great! I just used some dowels, hot glue and pipe cleaners!

And now a third chimney sweep!! He's the tall brooding one, but he sure is handsome...and look...NO SOOT! He drew his line in the dirt for that one!! Ah well, I was just glad that he dressed up at all!!

How fun is this pic...just playing around!

HANDS DOWN MY FAVORITE PICTURE OF THE NIGHT!! Bodie's face is just to die for...and he's holding his broom (not so easy with a 16 month old!!) You can see his little bitty gloves that I found and cut off the ends....LOVE IT!

Here are some from inside, before the makeup!

LOVE his little face here too!

The broom was almost bigger than him!

Some Daddy shots! Bodie was sick of us making him hold that broom!

So, Daddy held it for him!

The boys!!

LOVE.MY.FAMILY!

It was a super fun night! I love making these memories with my family! Even if I had to coax and beg at times...I'm sure they will always remember our 2010 Halloween!

Honor Roll Kiddos!

I HAD to do a post and brag about our two older children...ha ha! They both brought home EXCELLENT report cards for their first quarter of the school year! Kyle made the A/B honor roll and Saige got straight A's! They both worked very hard and we are very proud of them! I may even get them a bottle of sprite for their efforts...ha ha!

These pics were taken a few months ago....aren't they cute?
Congratulating each other....we'll just pretend it was for their grades!

We got us some good kids!

And to their massive surprise.....there isn't one pic of Bodie!
