Popcorn Popping.......

This year, Saige participated in her school's science fair....we were told that it was voluntary however, anyone who didn't do a project would see their science grade dropped by one letter grade...hmmm, that sounds pretty mandatory to me!! So, we set about doing this fun project...she decided to ask the question...Which brand of microwave popcorn pops the most kernels....sounds easy enough, right? Well, ask Saige how easy it was to count every single kernel of corn, popped and unpopped for 15 bags of popcorn!! ha ha. I think she thought it would be a little easier, but in the end, we had fun putting it all together. Here is the finished presentation board.

We brought all that popped popcorn in cute little popcorn bags to give away, sadly we didn't get a picture before they were gobbled up! Turns out we should have brought the bags in when the projects were being judged...a little bribery could have helped her place!!!

Bodie is 8 months old!

Our sweet boy is 8 months old today!! I can't believe he is only 4 months away from turning one...time is such a precious thing...he's growing like a weed and doing something new all the time! At his follow up check up, he weighed 13 pounds 8 oz. He gained a whole pound in a month!! The Dr. was very happy about that and we don't have to go back until his next well baby check-up. He is SUCH a GOOD BABY! He's even cutting teeth and we can't believe how good he's doing! He's scooting like crazy and loves to sit on the floor with his toys....unless he sees something more interesting like Saige's homework or the sonic cup someone left within reach!! He's eating more solids and loves his graham cracker treat each day! He's learning to use his sippy cup but still seems surprised when he gets something out of it! He devoloped a slightly nasty habit of biting when he nurses, but I think I've finally broken him of that....thank goodness!! He's turning into a pretty good sleeper, we can get a good 8 hours each night, so that has been heavenly! We just adore this little guy, more than words could ever describe. Enjoy these funny pics!

Decorating fun.......

So, here's a little glimps into the beginnings of my decorating endeavors with the new house....I still have a long way to go and a headful of ideas....but, I have to be patient and not spend a ton of money!! My old stuff will just have to do for now...ha ha!

This is the family room...it's a huge area, but our things are fitting pretty nicely. I never use the same furniture in the same rooms when we move, so I feel like it's fresh! The desk used to be in our bedroom and the bookshelf was used in the dining room in Germany. I like it a lot more now!

The skinny dresser was in our bedroom too....not sure if I like it here yet!

The old dining hutch....now a bookshelf.....I LOVE my cow print boxes, I'm kicking myself for not buying more!

I love this little hook and lantern....bought this on a fabulous shopping trip with my friend Valerie in Belgium. Not sure what I'm going to do with the bowl and stand, probably add some flowers.

The mirror is a new purchase from Target...got it on clearance....Score!! I love how thick the frame is, I'm a sucker for square things that are chunky!!

The train clock that my sweetheart bought me for our anniversary last year....it finally has a place that shows it off properly!

The infamous bread bowl! I added the wreath for a little color....I think I like it!!

The living room...this room has a long way to go....but, Joel hung my burlap curtains last weekend and it made a step in the right direction! I'm planning on painting the secretary black very soon!

A new wreath from Tai Pan over the piano...needs some more tweaking, but I LOVE the wreath....it's huge and I love the curly-q's!!

Well, that's it for now....I have all the major pieces for Bodie's nursery in and I can't wait to finish it up...he has the best room in the house...ha ha! I'll post pics soon.

Venice Beach and the Rose Bowl.....

We had so much fun taking Tom and Nancy to Venice Beach....Nancy had never seen the pacific ocean and we found the most "colorful" beach in CA to show her! The board walk didn't fail to give us a peek into the crazy life of beach people, we even saw a two-headed turtle and a guy that would let you staple a dollar to his body...ouch!

Grampy and Grammy Visit....YAY!!

Grammy and Grampy Booth are here in sunny CA (well, not really...but that is another story!) visiting us and we are having the best time! Bodie is loving all the extra attention he is getting and soaking up the love! Unfortunately, we have all had weird issues during their visit...poor Grammy fell and broke a rib on her way here, I had to go to the emergency room for extreme rib pain that turned out to be pluerisy caused from bronchitis and Saige has been home all week with a nasty case of pink eye....what the heck??? Seriously, we hardly ever get sick and then we are all being hit hard....hopefully the worst is over! In spite of all that going on, we are really enjoying visiting with family....we love having them so much and will miss them terribly when they go home next week. We are trying to snap up a lot of pictures while they are here and these are the first to make it to the blog!! Hope you enjoy...(Kelly...ha ha)

Bodie is 6 1/2 months old!!

Oh my gosh, can he be ANY cuter? Ha ha....we love this little kid so much....he has such a cute and sweet personality. He charmed the pants off his new Dr. She was all over him and kept commenting about his eyelashes!! Here are his stats....he is 12 pounds 4 oz. (he fell off the chart again, but she isn't too terribly upset about it, she just wants us to supplement a little with formula and yogurt) He is 25 inches long (a whopping 5th percentile...ha ha). He's meeting all of his milestones and rolled from his back to his tummy last night for the first time and he is such a scooter! He loves bath time and LOOOOVES to be nakey!! He perks right up when we take his clothes off!!! I'm trying to wean him from waking up and nursing during the night, the Dr. told me he was using me as his pacifier because he would only nurse for a few minutes and then go right back to sleep...he's doing pretty well with the change, I just pat his tummy and tell him "night, night, Bodie" at first he was like "yeah, right Mom" but, he's getting that he needs to go back to sleep and is giving in slowly!!

We think he is the sweetest thing to ever walk this earth, but we are biased!! I try not to take anything for granted...each day is just a huge blessing with him and I want to remember everything and just enjoy his sweet presence in our home!

New Year......New Post....Finally!!

Wow, where to start??? Life with our little boy continues to bring us so much joy! He is now 6 1/2 months old and is an active little guy! His new trick is to put his feet in his mouth every chance he gets! He doesn't like it when we take things away that he shouldn't have...i.e, paper of any kind, the remote control, etc! He's starting to creep when he's on his tummy and likes his tummy time now. He's actually starting to outgrow some of his clothes! But, he is still able to wear most of his 3 month old size clothes....he's a wee little thing, but we love it! His 6 month well baby checkup is next week and we'll find out if the Dr. is okay with his growth. Even though he is so small, he sure loves to eat! We started fruits and vegetables a few weeks ago and he loves it all! Sweet potatoes and pears are early favorites!
We've been in our new house for almost a month now and we STILL don't have our stuff, but we are surviving! But, I'm here to tell you...air mattresses aren't for the weak...ha ha!
We are hoping to get our shipment next week.

Bodie is 4 months old!

Yes, I'm about 2 weeks late in posting Bodie's 4 month photo!! This move is driving me crazy...ha ha. Anyway, our little bug continues to be the light of our lives right now. He is changing so much and learning something new each day! At his 4 month well baby check, he weighed 10 lbs 14 oz. and was 23 1/2 inches long...still in the 0% percentile, but he's continuing to grow on his own curve. He loves his little family and often shows us his sweet smile. We have lots of little toys for him to play with, but he prefers his little fingers! I totally think his two bottom teeth are coming in, but Joel doesn't believe me...but, whew, he slobbers up a storm and chows down on anything that comes near his mouth! He's a very sweet, laid back baby. After his shots he was fussy and it was so odd hearing him cry as much as he did, we aren't used to it!
We are having a blast with this sweet boy, everything he does just brings us so much joy! Kyle was able to get some pictures of him smiling....isn't he the cutest thing ever?? Enjoy!
