Howdy! Life has been buzzin along, same-o thing, different day! However, Bodie bug is growing like a weed and getting spunkier every day! He is such a mess, but we love him to pieces around here! He likes having the camera all to himself....ha ha! At least we've noticed he does better when he's not being forced into a family picture! He loves to say cheese and we can usually coax him into taking a picture just by reminding him about the cheese! He's a ham!

Kyle's Christmas and Sunday Pics!

Kyle couldn't wait to open up Christmas gifts when he got home from Alabama! He didn't have a ton to open up because he wanted to go shopping with Christmas money....but, he did enjoy the gifts he received! (he didn't mind little brother helping him open either!)

All my kiddos get Christmas jammies! He's been wearing these ever since!

Papa Hoss and Nana hooked him up!! His favorite....cash!!!

Happy New Year! Joel and I actually rang in the new year for a change and it was very nice getting that kiss!! This year we get the lovely privilege of going to church at 1:30 p.m. (ack) and so we have plenty of time for Sunday pics....whoo-hooo! It's going to be a fun-filled year of wrestling with Bodie and trying to make him forget that he would be snug as a bug taking a nap at home but is instead sitting quietly (ha ha) in Sacrament meeting!! Good times! Anyway, here are our fist Sunday Pics of the year....hopefully we will have many more and a wonderful year this year!

New Year's Eve at the Beach!

Jade really wanted to make a trip to a beach while they were here, so Sat. we packed up and headed to San Clemente Beach. We had not visited that beach yet and it didn't disappoint! We ended up a little far out and had to walk a little bit to get to the public beach....but, it was really nice with a little playground for Bodie and it wasn't crowded at all. It was a little overcast, but still very nice and Jade and Saul kept saying only in CA can you wear a swimsuit in Dec.! (Jade was the only one on the beach in a swimsuit though....ha ha)

Bodie LOVED the beach....which was very different from his last visit when it took us the whole time just to get him to put his feet on the sand! There was a little slide and swings also and he couldn't get enough of that either!

As we were having a fun time sticking our feet in the rolling waves....a HUGE wave decided to roll on in and totally wiped out Bodie...Joel plucked him out like a fish and we were all stunned and dying because it was a little funny.....but, wow that water was cold and Bodie didn't cry one bit....crazy! The bad news was that we didn't plan very well and didn't have a change of clothes for Bodie....but we did have his swimsuit and his jacket thank goodness! One of Joel's flip flops (that I had worn down to the beach side also got hit by the wave and one was taken out to sea....Saul saved the day (and me) by spotting it and running and snatching it out of the water!

After the beach.....we hit up our favorite dining location....chick-fil-a! Bodie wasn't interested in his food at all after seeing this little room!

Christmas Decorations 2011.....

The best time of the year is here!!! I really look forward each year to getting out all of my Christmas decorations and this year was especially fun because I had the new house and a blank slate to "re-use" my old stuff in a new way! I decided that I was going to use a LOT LESS decor in this house and I am really loving the result! Because I chose greys and browns I thought a natural approach would be best and of course the majority of my stuff is RED and BRIGHT...ha ha! Not exactly the natural look I was after, but I was able to pick through it all and with very few new purchases, I think it turned out swell!

The family room tree got the biggest makeover.....from the DOLLAR STORE!! Yes, almost everything on this tree came from the dollar tree and I think it looks fabulous! The picture doesn't really do it justice! I found silver eucalyptus sprays and white snowflakes and the green ribbon and tied it all together with brown, green and silver balls. The star on top is one of those crazy paper stars and I think it looks awesome!

Dewey in all is winter glory!! He makes a great centerpiece to the winter wonderland theme!

A little vignette on the dough table using a few rustic pine cones and ancient silver ornaments that weigh a ton!

The dining room tree....this room got a few red touches because I thought it would look great with all my black and white accents.....I love the black and white damask ribbon on this tree, it gives it a cool sophisticated look with the natural accents.

The area above my piano turned out to be a happy accident! I knew I had a ton of faux trees and was just putting them on the piano as I pulled them out of the boxes and ended up loving how they looked all together, it's a natural winter wonderland!! I found the awesome star anise wreath on clearance at Target and it's supposed to be a fall decoration, but I think it works perfectly for this scene! You can't really see the little nativity set from Japan, but this is also one of my favorite possessions.

The Santa collection made the cut once again this year.....I didn't use all of them and only used my favorites, but I really like them in this secretary.

Entry way table....nothing too exciting here...ha ha!

The staircase is right off the dining/living room and so the red buckets tied in well....I just changed them up a little bit with the black and white ribbon and I love how they look! However, we can't really use them as an advent, because Bodie had all the candy canes out of the buckets on the first day! Ah well, we will have them for years to come!

Howdy folks! Saige had her winter concert last night...she had a "special duet" part on her piccolo and she was soooo nervous, but SHE DID GREAT! We took a video and as soon as Joel gets it online, I will post it! But, for now...here are a few pics from the night!

Yay for Halloween!! I love coming up with fun family ideas for Halloween and thought that it would be a perfect fit for our family to be the characters from Scooby Doo! I mean seriously.....could Kyle be a better Shaggy??? Love it! I had a blast hunting down our costumes....I hit every thrift store in our area and I think they turned out awesome! I'm so lucky to have such a great, fun-loving family....they indulge me and my crazy ideas!!

Here's an out of order shot of how the cabinets used to look like....I can't figure out how to move it.....ha ha!

It's that time again....my FAVORITE time of the year!! I get such a rush when fall comes around each year....I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE the colors, the smells, the weather, the clothes!!!! I just love how cozy our house feels when I put out my fall decorations....I stretch it out for as long as I can....ha! When we bought this house I really wanted to change things up color wise....I brought in a bunch of grey and I couldn't be happier with the results....I still love a lot of my brown things and they really look different with the grey colors I have going on, so it's been a good change!

I love the orange against the grey walls....the living/dining room has all of my black and white stuff too....

A new addition....when I was visiting Jade in UT for her opera we of course shopped at Down East Home and I found this ottoman for less than 50 bucks....it's grey, but the color was off a little with the other greys I had in the house, so I knew I wanted to cover it somehow and this is what I have so far....FUR!!!!! I can't believe how much I love it! The texture is so great and I'm going to staple it down to make it look more upholstered....it's one of my favorite things and such a great bargain!

And you can see the roman shades that I bought for all the windows downstairs....I'm still trying to figure out what to do with curtains.....but, I really like the simplicity of the shades. The shades definitely took a big chunk of my decorating budget, but I am so pleased with how they look.

This is the great room.....it's a little challenging with furniture placement, but it's getting there!

This is "Dewey"!! You either hate or love it....and I super-duper LOVE it! No one really quite gets why I love it, but I'm okay with that! I think it's quirky and little unexpected....ha ha!

Here is our new sectional....I took this picture when I was getting ready for the baby shower I hosted, so that is why there are balloons hanging from the ceiling! But, you can see how the downstairs flows in this shot....and you can also see the kitchen cabinets that I had re-done! By far the best thing I did in this house! I love the two-tone and I love the hardware!! Best money I spent if you ask me!!

Wow! It's been a while....ha ha! Moving really put a damper on my blogging....but, now that things are finally calming down, I actually have some time to sit down and blog! I looked through our Sunday pictures for the last few months and just picked out some for this post....Bodie sure is growing up!! The first set are in our new house.....which I LOVE!! I'm so happy to be in our new home....things are coming together and overall, I'm really happy with everything I've done so far! I'm going to post all about the house soon....I've got to take a few more pictures and get a few more things done....

Yes, this was the hubby's response to "Sunday Pictures"....ha ha! It's his favorite time of the week.....and if you believe that one, I have a swamp to sell ya! Anywhooooo....we did get some good shots this week! We even changed it up and moved to another room...ha ha!

Joel was ignoring us and still sitting at the computer, so we took some of ourselves....pretty cute if you ask me!!

Bodie's Haircut! July 2010

It was the first time I took Bodie to get his haircut without Joel....it was an EPIC-SUCCESS! This boy sure does love looking at the mirror while his hair is getting cut....ha ha! I brought a stash of suckers to bribe him if need be and he got one in the end just for being sooooo good! His hair had grown crazy long and we kept putting it off, but WOW, what a difference a little ole haircut can make! We have a cute boy.....(I know I'm biased)
He also loves his little guitar....just like Daddy! Very cute....I included a little video at the end of his craziness....ha ha! On a little side note, he is wearing a shirt that he got at his SHOWER...yes, folks....TWO YEARS OLD and is wearing a 3-6 month old onesie! He is getting taller which is a very good thing, but he is still a skinny 22 pound two year-old! I sure pray that he grows big and strong! His Dr. told us that we could give him as many milkshakes as he wanted...ha ha!

The hair is cute....but, those eyelashes are to die for....wish I had them!

4th of July....2011

Our 4th of July was pretty lame this year.....we heard that there was a fair at the fairgrounds and it turned out to be a bunch of bouncy castles and slides...so, even with the fair food calling our names, we decided against it! We just spent the day with each other and it rained that night so we didn't even venture out for the firework show....but, sometimes....the best holidays are the low-key holidays! Saige and I wore our flag shirts, so I guess we celebrated a little...ha ha!

Joel and I celebrated our 8th wedding anniversary on July 3rd.....so lucky to be just as happy as we were 8 years ago....probably more!
Bodie decided to be a booger.....so, I acted like him in this pic! Scary tongue pic!

San Diego Trip.....

Joel, Bodie and I got to spend 4 fabulous days in San Diego last week and boy did we enjoy our stay! We took Bodie swimming every day and he's so much fun in the water....he's a little fish and didn't like it one bit when it was time to get out! San Diego is just an awesome city, we stayed downtown on the marina and we were able to enjoy some really great restaurants in the Gas Lamp district. The highlight of Bodie's stay were the elevators...ha. He called them the "ellies" and most days we had to drag him away from them to go to the room! I just love these little mini trips that we get to take because of Joel's work....it's such a nice perk! Next week we are headed for Vegas and again it will just be the three of us....Saige is headed to the Grand Canyon for a week of hiking (she's excited, but I am so glad that my vacation will be pool side with cushy accommodations).

WoW! Where has the time gone???? Seriously? My baby is 2? I can't stand how fast the years are flying by.....but, we do have this little handsome toddler making us smile every day and occasionally, that same toddler gives us headaches and tears!! But, oh what a joy he is to us. At 2 years old, little Bodie Booth weighs about 21 pounds and he's turned into a picky eater....UGH, just what I need, right? I need to get some weight on this boy and he has decided that almost everything is "yucco" (his favorite word these days...ha ha). We took his bottle away on the very day he turned 2, and he has yet to take more than a few sips of milk from the sippy cup....apparently he DOES NOT think it tastes the same from the sippy! He throws himself dramatically on the floor when he sees us at the fridge pouring it into the cup....he may have a future in T.V. ha! However, the boy does love his sweets....imagine that. I discovered the best way to keep him SITTING in the cart when we are shopping is to give him a sucker (I know, great Mom award here) but, let me tell you....the shopping trips are a lot less stressful. Sadly, his nap times are dwindling.....but, he sleeps like a champ at night and is the first child I've had who sleeps in....HOORAY for that small miracle! He LOVES, LOVES, LOVES music. He has some favorite commercials on T.V. that he will bee line for when he hears them coming on and just sways and "feels" the music! It's the cutest thing to watch and we just love that he is so into music as we like to think of ourselves as music people! He's small, but he's mighty.....he's getting the great honor of being the naughty one in nursery right now....which I just die over....but, I know it's a stage and we just need to squash that Napoleon complex as much as we can...ha! But, as naughty as he can be at times, he can be equally sweet and loving. He loves giving hugs and kisses (as long as we don't bug him too much). And he loves to snuggle up with us and read books and when I say snuggle, I mean he has to have a blanket and everything....even when it's 80 degrees in the house! (Yes, I know I'm cheap B.J.) He really is our dream come true....I'm so beyond thankful that we got him. When looking for pics to use with this post, I discovered that we have really been slacking in the picture taking department....I really need to do better, before I know it, he'll be 3 and I'll only have Sunday pics to post!

He's a dipper! He's not much interested in whatever it is he's dipping...i.e. fries, carrots, chips....he just loves to suck off the dip....ah well, I count that as precious calories at this point!

The Wedding Trip........

Last weekend we drove to NM for my little sister's wedding.....it was a fast trip (only 3 days) and a long drive (10 hours)....but, we had a really good time and visit! One of the highlights was my Dad giving Bodie a ride on his tricycle! We all loved riding this bike, ESPECIALLY Bodie! He loves being outside and didn't want to get out when we were all pooped out! I had so much fun on the bike that 3 days after we got home, I bought a trike for me...ha ha! It's awesome, because I'm terrified of falling over with Bodie on a regular bike and this is a perfect alternative! My dad is so stinking cute.....he rides his bike everyday!

We didn't get ANY good pics at the wedding....the outside pics were awful because of the wind and Bodie wasn't in the mood....so, these are the best we have! Daddy and Bodie wore matching suits.....Lainie's colors were pink and silver and we coordinated nicely....ha ha!

Saul and Jade's first year anniversary was the day after Lainie's wedding, so they left a little early and drove to Durango to stay at a cute bed and breakfast. I'm so glad my girl is so happily married....they are doing so well and I'm so proud of them.

Happy Easter Everyone! I realize that it's been forever since I've updated our blog....but, life with an almost two-year old is, well....busy!! Also, there really hasn't been much to update everyone on....just the same-o thing....different day! Bodie continues to be a little bundle of energy and he keeps us on our toes! He is growing up so much....I totally hate it! Not only is he a mini-me in the looks department with his daddy....he's also starting to act like him...that can be a good, or a bad thing...ha ha! Either way, he is a little ham and we could just eat him up with a spoon on most days! Kyle and Saige are great.....they are still doing well in school and they keep us busy with all of their activities! Life is good.....I've said it before and I'll say it again....FAMILY IS EVERYTHING and I am so blessed to have a wonderful husband and beautiful kiddos! Here are our Easter/Sunday pics! Hey there! We got a few Sunday pictures this week, we are sadly missing a certain 15 year-old boy. ( who ever said that GIRLS take forever to get ready didn't live with a certain 15-year-old boy....ha ha) Kyle was still styling his hair and so, we'll have to make sure (force) to get him next week! We may even do a special "Kyle Sunday Picture Post" I'm sure he would just love that!

I never really do much decorating for Valentines, but this year I got a little inspired to throw a few touches around the house. I love my dough table so much, it has become my "seasonal" area to decorate. I just put a few simple items together, nothing fancy...but, I love it! I got the topiary in an after-Christmas clearance section and I.LOVE.IT.SO.MUCH! I just cut the top off (Joel cut the top off...ha ha) and made it look more round on top and I totally have a topiary that doesn't scream Christmas at all. And you wouldn't believe how cheap I got it...SCORE!

I saw these heart marshmallows at Target and basically got me thinking about how cute they would be in a glass jar....so, of course they came home with me and how stinking cute are they? Joel doesn't get it either and every day a few are missing....ah well, hopefully we will still have some by February 14th!

Bodie is 19 months.........

Soooooo, I had great intentions for Bodie's 18 MONTH post, but....WOW, somehow he turned 19 months...how the heck did that happen???? My little boy is growing up on me and I'm not a bit happy about it! I don't think words could ever express how much I adore this little boy...he really makes my heart swell and I am so thankful that Heavenly Father gave him to us. At his 18 month checkup last week we finally hit a milestone! He made the chart baby!!! At least in his height and bone growth...not anywhere close on his weight, but he did hit the big 2-0! He was in the 3rd percentile for his height and bone growth, so we are doing the happy dance around here! He is soooooo completely active and any calorie intake we do manage to get in him is quickly burned off by all his crazy energy, but he's healthy and happy and we couldn't ask for anything more. He's not a big speaker, but he totally knows exactly what we are talking about and we think he's a genius, but what parent doesn't think that? Some of things he loves to do right now is running to the door anytime anyone goes in or out...(he's trying to escape)
He loves to follow both Kyle and Saige and loves them both like crazy. He's pretty attached to his bottle and pretty much only sits still to drink it! He started nursery at church this month and he's been a total champ about it. The nursery leader did inform us that he does prefer to eat the crayons rather than color...but, a few little surprises in his diaper is a small price to pay for two hours of relaxation during church.... ha ha! He loves playing with other kids and I really need to find a play group for him...he's a social little bug.
Anywhoo...that's the latest on our little bug...we just all love him to death and he's so much fun for us.

His favorite spot! Anytime he sees me heading for this chair he runs ahead of me and sprawls out so I can't sit down....he cracks me up!

He also likes to scare me with climbing on EVERYTHING! This chair is a rocker and it has propelled his little skinny butt a few times...which usually cracks me up too!

Saige and I were out shopping this last weekend and we stopped at a little thrift store and found this cute little car. I totally saw it as a decoration for his room, but also knew that he would have a blast with it when he gets a little older and can reach the pedals. We took him to the park to let him play and get in a little photo shoot.

Ho, Ho, Ho....It's Santa Jo Jo!!

This is a great story!! At our ward Christmas Party, we were sitting at our table minding our own business, when a sweet lady from the ward approached us and gave us a sob story about how nobody would agree to be the Santa for the kids at the end of the program and asked (begged) Joel to step up to the plate!! After much laughing about his response..."you asking me because I'm a little pudgy?" And the sweet lady stammering all over herself that of COURSE that was not why...ha ha...Little Jo Jo Booth agreed to don the Santa suit and the rest is history!
I wished I had a video of his entrance...he strutted the whole way...let me tell you, it was hilarious!

I begged Saige to go and sit on Santa's lap with Bodie...I was trying to make her do a scared face and she didn't quite nail it...but, Bodie's face is priceless...he didn't cry, but he sure didn't like Santa either!! What a great memory!

Christmas 2010

Well, Christmas has come and gone and we are still trying to recover! We made WAY TOO MUCH FOOD!!!! I don't think Joel or I ever want to see another Christmas cookie again..ha ha! Well, at least until next Christmas. We really did have a wonderful Christmas this year. We were all looking forward to Bodie's reaction to all the festivities and while he didn't quite get it....he was still such a joy to watch! Once he opened his first gift...he was done for the night...we had to coax him into opening all the rest of his gifts...ha! Hope you enjoy these Christmas 2010 pictures...I even threw in a few Sunday pics...yay!

She put them on right then and there! Of course this picture won't rotate...but, she is sure cute in these jammies! Poor thing doesn't have to freeze anymore, these will keep her nice and toasty!

December has been a CRAZY, BUSY month!! I really can't believe that Christmas is this Saturday...Wow, is all I have to say about that! We've had so many things to do this month that it overwhelmed me to do a post about each one, so I decided to combine a few of the highlights!

The first is Saige's Christmas parade. We bundled up early and quite enjoyed watching Bodie's excitement for all of the fun floats and bands.
He waved, he clapped, he squealed!!! I think we watched him more than the parade!! Until of course Saige went by!!

They walked by so fast that I could hardly keep her in my view....but I ran with them and got some good shots when they were marching in place.

I totally called out to her and embarrassed her for this pic....she's probably thinking that she wants to kill me right about now!

And now, it's back to business!

After Saige went by we contemplated leaving, but Bodie was having too much fun! And he even got to see the jolly old fat guy! It was a good morning!

The next pictures are from Joel's Christmas party down in San Diego. We walked away with a 15.oo dollar gift card to Subway, so the night wasn't all bad...ha ha! We were a little bummed when we learned that our friends at another party won a flat screen T.V.....but, ah well...we had a good time chatting with Joel's co-workers.

He did so well...we thought he would totally freak out when he realized he was back to get another cut, but he sat there like a little trooper and admired himself in the mirror! I faux-hawked his hair for these pics...sooooo cute!

I can't believe that Christmas is in 15 days! Where in the world has this year gone? We moved to CA one year ago and it just doesn't seem possible that it's gone by so fast. Last year we were sleeping on air mattresses and eating on paper plates, we got our furniture AFTER Christmas, so it was a pretty sad holiday to say the least! So, this year seemed even more fun pulling out all our Christmas bins and I bought a bunch of stuff before we left Germany that I totally forgot about...BONUS! I also felt very crafty this year, so I made a bunch of new things for the house.....I really enjoyed decorating this year and now that it's all done, I can spend the rest of the month just sitting back and enjoying the holiday with my family!

(there are a ton of pictures....my sister has been hounding me!!!)

The piano "scape"! I love how the browns and silvers look together....I think I want the whole house to go in this direction, but it will take years to fade out all my old stuff!!
Joel was very happy to see that I was using my cricut up a storm for my craft ideas! I think he was beginning to think he had wasted his money on that gift...ha ha! I made the canvas with the different languages for Merry Christmas. I used languages that meant something to our family. I even got Navajo in there. The only one that is completely random is the the "bo nada", I think it's Gaelic and I just needed something small to fit in the space...ha ha! I really liked how it turned out and it only cost me the price of the paper!

Heavy ornaments....European Country Living...I miss that store!

Humongous cinnamon sticks....they were even bigger, but Joel cut them down for me. Another ECL find! I really like how they look in the crock, I could never figure out how to display them, but I think they have found a home!

My contact paper chalkboard cabinets...I did this a while ago and I love using them.

One little area above the cabinets...I don't like to get too cluttery, so I kept it simple.

This arrangement can't stay here for long....Bodie will destroy it in a blink of an eye! But, I love how simple it is.....and I love the grey pillows on the white couch....Target love!

My dough table....totally love this table for a little vignette. I bought these sleighs years ago at Big Lots and I've never really liked them until I used them for this....probably one of my favorite spots in the house. I bought the glass village when Jade was 2 or 3 and I have fallen in love with it again!

Tree in the urn....found the clip on poinsettias at the dollar store...and I super duper love them!

Simple. Love.

Not so simple....ha ha! I saw a bucket advent in Pottery Barn and decided to run with the bucket idea...I found the buckets at the dollar section at Target and thought it would be a cinch to paint them for this project....well, I should have used primer...but, I was waaaayyyy too lazy for that and it cost me!!! 7 or 8 coats later and finally had the look (kind of) that I wanted!

On some of them you can still see Snow White and the princesses if you look close enough...ha ha! I used my handy dandy cricut to cut out the numbers and overall, I think it turned out really cute. The kids are loving the candy canes they get everyday as they count down to Christmas...Bodie thinks they should ALL be his everyday!

All time favorite kitchen decorations (thanks Valerie for giving me the link to find them!) Valerie and I both found these on a blog and she bought them and I loved them soooo much in her house that I just couldn't stand not buying them too! They are the perfect place to decorate for the seasons!

Hot chocolate station...a must in this house!! I have more mugs than you can shake a stick at (as Joel would say!!) I really love these mugs because they are huge and I love anything with writing on it!

Maybe next year I'll get some inspiration for something new!

Christmas time is such a special time for family and above all remembering Christ our Savior.

Thanksgiving 2010

It was a time for Thanksgiving!! And it was a huge blessing that Jade and Saul were here to celebrate the holiday! We had a really good time over the Thanksgiving break, we cooked, we cleaned, we cooked some more, and we ATE! (the best part!) The eating lasted for days, especially the turkey eating because for some reason we thought we needed to make TWO turkeys!! But, it was pure left-over heaven! Here are a few pics of our feast!

Joel's smoked turkey....YUMMO! And how gorgeous is it??? He used cooking the two turkeys as an excuse to purchase a smoker that he's been dreaming of for the last few years!

My first attempt at baking a fresh apple pie....it sure looked beautiful....the crust was a little thick, but I'm sure I'll do better next year!

Joel made the yams and green bean casserole and I made the stuffing and dressing and the cranberry dish. Instead of using the mini marshmallows for the yams, Joel put sugar frosted flakes for the topping and let me tell you, they were delicious!

Jade, Saul and Saige got up at 6:00 a.m. to run in an annual turkey trot at our church. I thought it was just a ward thing, but it turned out that it was the 7th annual Stake turkey trot and it was legit!! They got bibs and there were prizes! Saul got 2nd in his age group and Jade got first in her age group and 3rd overall. Saige got 4th in her age group! Jade and Saul were very excited to win these turkey mugs! Crazy kids, it is not my idea of a good time to get up at the crack of dawn and run for 3.2 miles!! But, I'm sure glad they do!

It was so nice getting that extra hour of sleep this last Sunday and Bodie was enjoying it a little too much!! We had some friends over Saturday night, so we didn't give Bodie a bath before he went to bed, so we waited and waited for him to wake up so we could give him a quick bath before church, finally I told Joel we would just have to wake him up (which I hate to do) but, it had to be done (I can't risk being late and not getting our pew at church...ha ha). So, Joel went to his room and the next thing I know, he is running downstairs and coming back up with the camera! We find Bodie in some funny positions when he is sleeping, but this was too cute! That stuffed animal makes a good pillow!

Major Halloween Photo Overload coming up...ha ha! There were so many great pictures, I just couldn't stop adding them! I was determined to put together a family theme this year for Halloween and had a blast putting together our "Mary Poppins" costumes! Joel went along with it...just a little moaning and groaning! I even got Kyle to dress up (major coup there)...ha ha!

I HAD to do a post and brag about our two older children...ha ha! They both brought home EXCELLENT report cards for their first quarter of the school year! Kyle made the A/B honor roll and Saige got straight A's! They both worked very hard and we are very proud of them! I may even get them a bottle of sprite for their efforts...ha ha!

Saige made advanced band this year and she is having so much fun doing all the "grown up" activities that come with junior high! She was in the Hesperia City parade a few weeks ago and sadly we didn't get any clear pictures of that, but last week her school participated in a band extravaganza. We sat in the stands and enjoyed listening to all the middle schools and high schools in her school district. Her little band outfit is so cute and she is so stinking cute in it! We got a few good shots, but the far shots didn't come out that great, but you get the idea!

Joel and I finally bit the bullet and took Bodie to get his first haircut yesterday....it was a little sad for us! We loved his little curly-Q's, but...it was looking a bit unruly...boo hoo! He's not our little baby boy anymore....he's growing into those toddler years just a little too fast for our liking....but, we have to deal with it! I took a million pictures of the big event....he is such a hoot...he charmed both ladies that were working and they both said he did really well for his first time!

I'll start off with a few pics of our crazy little man! Is he ever giving me a run for my money...ha ha! He is such a mess, but words cannot describe how in love we all are with him....even when he is dragging out every single pot and pan and measuring cups (his favorite) all over the house and doesn't give a fig when we tell him "NO" a million times a day...he still manages to melt our hearts!

He's cutting some more teeth and goes after anything he can sink his teeth into...including our toes...OUCH!

He looks like such an angel here.....don't be fooled!!!

It's no secret that Fall is my favorite time of year....it just makes me so happy...I love the colors, I love the weather, I love everything about it which is why I try and make it last as long as possible! I usually try to have everything out by Sept. 1st, that way I have a good 3 months to enjoy all my fall decor! Here a few things I did in the living room and entry way...I have more through out the house, but I'll have to take pics of those later.

I put a dough bowl with gourds and apples on the buffet....those dough bowls from Belgium sure do provide lots of decorating ideas....should of bought more!

More stuff on the buffet...the willow tree is new this year, it has little acorns on the branches...I love it! Acorns are my new favorite this year.

I got this crock from PB and I love it so much...but I couldn't believe how stinking HUGE it was when I got it....it was hard finding enough of anything to fill it up...but, luckily I found these cattail things in my box of fall flowers, I forgot all about them and was so excited when I didn't have to go out and buy something new...and I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE how they look!

I bought white slipcovers for my chairs when we moved here and last year I found the two orange slipcovers on EBAY for something ridiculous like a buck a piece...I thought they would look good as the two end chairs on the table...I love how they bring the color into the room!

Gourds on the piano....I need to find a gourd farm around here...I got these in Farmington 10 years ago!

The dough table in the living room....I may change this up a little bit, but it works for now!

A shot of my new (used) couch! Craigslist is the bomb diggity! I found the Erktorp Ikea couch a few months ago....the slipcovers can be bleached and it looked like a brand new couch...now if I can keep little munchkin and his dirty hands away from it!

I copied the pillows from a PB catalog...I just used fabric paint and a stencil I made with my cricut machine...I think they look pretty darn cute and I saved like 50 bucks! (seriously, PB thinks their doo-doo doesn't stink...whatever)

The entry way ended up being one of my favorite places this year....I am so in love with my settee....I just used things I already had...the pumpkin pictures are ones I made years ago using a book that I cut up and the eye chart thing is totally my favorite thing I've bought this year....Target is a very, very scary place for me...ha ha!

Surprise, surprise!!! I am finally getting around to getting Bodie's 14 month pics up...I've been in a blogging funk!! Or it may be that I'm so dag-on tired of chasing this very ACTIVE, beautiful child of ours that all I can do at the end of the day is veg out in front of the TV!! HOWEVER, don't get me wrong....I absolutely LOVE this little boy and feel so grateful that I am lucky enough to watch him grow up every day. HOWEVER, he is a handful....ha ha! And he is OBSESSED with climbing our stairs at least 1000 times a day! We are totally lame-o and haven't purchased a safety gate for the stairs yet and so all I do is complain about chasing him down...ha ha! He also loves to scare me to death by throwing random toys down the stairs and every time I think it's him falling....he just giggles and points at me when I try to scold him!
It really is a good thing that he is so darn cute....I think he would get into much more trouble!

Here he is forming a plan to get to those blasted stairs!! (He's trying to fool me into thinking that he's interested in that toy...just long enough for me to take my eyes off of him)

Whoo-hoo...I got a running start!!

Darn it....she caught me!! And even worse, made me pose for some pictures! He's putting on this face because he knows in a few minutes he'll have another chance at those stairs!

He's such a ham! I love his little rocker look he's got going on today!

Being the bold and crazy little boy that he is, he gets lots of little boo-boos. He got this shiner from being under the desk and trying to get away from me when I was trying to drag him out.....poor little guy. I hate it when he gets hurt, but he sure does turn into a snuggle bunny when he does and that folks is pure heaven!

I watched a couple of little boys a while back and it was fun seeing Bodie interact with them...I think he's going to have the "chihuahua" complex and be the bossy little guy! The little boy next to him is a month younger than he is! I hope as he gets older, he'll be better at sharing! We only have 4 more months until nursery at church....yikes!

13 Months!

Little Bodie Booth is 13 months old! And boy is he a firecracker! He's found his naughty "voice" which he uses anytime we stop him from creating complete havoc in the house!! Even though he is in his "not so easy stage", we are amazed everyday at how much fun he brings to our home.
He's a little explorer and will open every single cabinet in the kitchen and unfortunately, the toilet seat to splash in the water. He definitely keeps us on our (old) toes! At his 12 1/2 month check up, he weighed in at a whopping 16 pounds....(the Dr. once again re-weighed him because she didn't want to think that he only weighed 16 pounds) however, the scale didn't lie!! She's not too worried yet, even though he is way off the chart for his weight, he does gain between his visits so that makes her feel better about his size. He was 29 inches long (30%) and his head was 42 1/2 inches (3%). He's a wee little fellow as we like to call him...ha ha! But, his size does nothing to stop him from doing anything he wants to do around here! He started taking his first steps a few weeks before his first birthday and in the last week or so, he has started using his little legs as his preferred mode of getting from point A to point B! He is such a hoot to watch...he looks like a character from the Living Dead movies, but it's just so awesome to watch him learn new things and watch as his personality continues to grow. He still wears a size 2 diaper and his 12 month old clothes still look huge on him, but he's reaching his milestones and that is all a parent can wish for....he's a healthy, happy little boy.

Long overdue update....The Beach!

So, yes....I've been a very bad keeper of the blog lately...I have no excuses, but for your viewing delight here are some photos of the fam!! My sister came to visit a few weeks ago and we decided to take her to Laguna...the beach is beautiful there and we managed to find a perfect spot with not that many people. Kyle and Saige were the first ones to brave the super cold water...it was pretty slippery, but they managed to stay upright!

Bodie's First Birthday......

Bodie is now 1....WOW, this year has just flown by.....I can't stand it! I just love planning parties and I couldn't wait to give Bodie is first Birthday party...it was a blast putting it all together and everything turned out great! I saw a milk and cookies party for a baby shower a year ago and have been thinking about it since! I think it worked perfectly for a little boy's first birthday! We can't say enough how much we love this little guy....he has brought so much joy and happiness into our home. I love seeing him grow and do new things every single day and even though I would love it if time just slowed a little, I don't take any days for granted! His one year appointment is on the 28th and I'll get his stats then, but he's hitting all his milestones and then some and of course we think he is the smartest baby there is! We have a climber on our hands! Bodie isn't happy unless he's climbing on something. He takes no notice at how sturdy the piece is...he's got tunnel vision! I don't even know if buying more gates is worth it, he'll climb up those too! He's such a mess....why didn't I have one of these when I was 20? Ha ha!

Yesterday Joel put Bodie in our huge bathtub for a swim...ha ha! He LOVED it....in fact, I'm sure he'll have a cow if we try to bathe him in his little toddler tub again! He's a little fish and loves to be nakey! Unfortunately, he also loves to drink the water...yuck! He's such a little hoot...and I know we go on and on about how little he is...but, let me tell you....I'm so thankful!! Today at church I held a little boy the same age as Bodie while his Aunt played the piano and he had to weigh at least 35 pounds....whew!!! What a work out that would be everyday...on second thought....maybe that would be a good thing for me...ha!
He may be a little peanut, but we sure couldn't adore him any more than we do!

So, Dog the Bounty Hunter has Baby Lisa, we will always have Saigeee Baby!! Talk about time moving at lightening speed...how is this girl 12 already? I totally thought that I would never have another child after Jade and when I found out I was pregnant, I was beyond excited. She has been such a huge blessing to our family. She is always willing to help and has such a sweet heart. She loves her little brother and doesn't even care that she's not the baby of the family anymore! He is so lucky to have such a loving sister in his life...she will always take care of him and make sure he turns out as sweet as she is!!

We didn't do a huge party this year, she's having a few friends over for a slumber party and we just opened presents and had cake with the family.

12 years old....wow, a young woman now....kinda blows my mind!

HOLY COW.....How in the world is the boy 11 months old! And HOLY COW....he's giving us a run for our money....ha ha! Today he managed to get out of his exersaucer....I don't know how he did it because I was happily scrubbing the stove until I noticed that he was grinning ear to ear crawling towards me.....Life as I know it is over!!!! He has 3 little stations that I can keep him contained while I do housework and he HATES every one of them and now he has figured out how to get out of one of those and is working on the next....heaven help me! I also need to get to the store and get those cabinet baby latches because we found him like this today....he's a mess, but we sure LOVE this little baby boy! How did we survive for so long without his little sweet face?
Anyway....at 11 months, Bodie is around 14 1/2 pounds he still wears a size 2 diaper. I'm counting down the days until I wean him next month....he still occasionally likes to bite the hand (or boob) that feeds him...ha ha! He hates the bottle and only plays with the sippy cup, so it will be interesting to see how that works out! I'm trying to feed him more and more table food, but he still mainly eats baby food. His favorites are mango and peas! He's a climber and successfully manages the stairs anytime he can make a run for it. He's been sleeping through the night again (and I probably just jinxed myself) and it's been awesome!
I'm planning his big birthday next month and just can't believe how fast this year is flying. What more can I say? He's just a dream come true!

Another project checked off the list!! I bought this settee in Belgium on an awesome shopping trip with my friend Valerie a few months before we left Germany. That shopping trip was very fruitful...ha ha! I got this settee, the huge dough bowl and a secretary for super low prices! We were very giddy with our visions of what they "could" be!! I initially wanted it to be covered in an antique french burlap sack, but the upholster guy shot that idea down! He insisted that it wouldn't look right, so I trusted him and went with my plan B. I wanted something to go with my houndstooth chairs, so I picked a white (yes, white...what was I thinking?) and black print...It turned out so stinking cute! However, once I got it in the room, I hated it with the chairs...it just looked too dainty...so, after making Saige move furniture with me (Joel was at work and I couldn't wait) it landed in the entry way...and I think I like it!! But, now I have to paint the sofa table that I put in there....ah, the projects never end!!

Bodie is ten months old!!

Wow, our little Bodie boy is 10 months old today! This year is just flying by and it's driving me crazy. I want this little guy to stay my tiny little baby just a wee bit longer!! He is a mess and a half!! He can get himself into ANYTHING he wants or sees and becomes very angry if we try to hinder him in any way! How dare us? ha ha. He's had a rough couple of days...two teeth are trying to break through and he's not a bit happy about it! Last night he cried for 2 hours...poor little bug....and poor us..ha ha! I could hardly keep my eyes open at church today! Even though the teething thing is kicking his butt, he's a happy boy most of the time. He has the cheesiest grin ever and we just adore him to no end! With his 1st birthday fast approaching, I think we want to savor every moment of his infant-hood! We are so lucky.

Here's little Bodie Boo in his spring/Easter outfit! This kid's closet is a little out of control...but between Joel and I, (and his Aunt Kelly) I guess there is no getting around it!!

Look at that little bit of drool on his lip!! His 5th tooth is coming in....wish we could skip the whole teething process!

Now the reason for the title!! We noticed a while ago that every time a certain commercial would come on T.V., Bodie would stop whatever he was doing to look at the T.V. It's a Swiffer commercial where a broom is getting kicked out because of the new swiffer...well, the broom falls for a discarded mop and they fall in love...and the song "who's that lady" plays...This is the only commercial that gets his attention and it is so funny...so, Joel got this little video...too fun!

Here are a few pictures showing off Bodie's new shoes...he's not sure if he likes them on his feet, he much prefers to chew on them! He also had his 9 month well baby check up on Tuesday and I'm so glad we found this Dr. She is amazing and she loves Bodie! She totally smooches on him for 5 minutes every time we go! She was a tiny bit concerned about his measurements, she didn't trust the tech's measurements and kept re-doing them, but they were right. He's a teeny-tiny! He weighed 14 pounds 4 ounces (off the chart) and was 26 and 3/4 long (10th percentile). After checking his previous marks, she didn't seem as concerned and his iron was great, so he's getting his veggies...so, she let us go!! Hopefully he'll do some major growing before his next visit!

Are these shoes stinking cute or what? Wish he would keep them on!

Little Bodie bug is 9 months old today....wow! He is so much fun and INTO everything!!!
He's a climber so pray for us...ha ha! It's so much fun seeing his personality grow...he loves to snuggle when he's tired and wants to be FREE at all other times!! He has 4 teeth now, two on top and two on bottom....when his teeth are trying to come through, we can count on no sleep for a few nights...but, otherwise he's a good sleeper. He's taking about 3 naps a day, mostly short naps, but every once in a while, he'll surprise me and let me get some cleaning done for a couple of hours...I love those days!! I don't think he'll be eating baby food for much longer, he is much more interested in our food these days....we got him those little baby puffs and he likes them a lot! We need to buy him some new toys because he has NO interest in his old ones...he is much more interested in getting the big people stuff we leave around. He weighs about 13 1/2 pounds and is about 27 inches long...I'm pretty darn sure he'll be walking early, so it's going to be hiliarious seeing this tiny baby upright and walking. He is just a joy to have and we are constantly amazed at how we lived for so long without him!

Being in the saucer???? Not so much....he likes crawling underneath...ha ha!
